| Clear Complexion Systems I & II |
Vivant's Clear Complexion Systems provide you with today's most scientifically advanced acne treatments. Optional products may also be selected to enhance individual results.
 Choose System One for those with dry, sensitive skin, and less severe acne. We also recommend it for clients new to Vitamin A products to give their skin a chance to adjust to the exfoliation process without irritation. (One exception might be those living in a hot humid climate like New Orleans – here you may want to use System Two) Once the skin has acclimated to the use of System One, clients of all skin types may choose to move up to System Two for continued improvement.
Choose System Two for those with oily skin, those living in a tropical climate, those who have severe acne on their back or chest, and those ready for a more aggressive program. |

Both Systems incorporate a benzoyl peroxide product, and a vitamin A or a vitamin A+ glycolic acid conditioner, developed and patented by Dr. Fulton. Detailed directions for use are included in each system to simplify the client training process and save you time.
Benzoyl Peroxide Products
Benzoyl Peroxide penetrates the pores, kills Corynebacterium acnes, the bacteria of acne, and opens up acne impactions.
System I includes BP 2.5% Wash for milder acne or sensitive skin.
System II includes BP 2.5% Cleanser - a stronger acne cleanser with polyethylene beads that scrub off dead skin cells, allowing the therapeutic products to penetrate better. May be used alone for mild acne or as part of a system for moderate to severe acne.
Optional BP Products - To be added (as tolerated) for additional antibacterial and pore opening efficacy.
BP 5% Gel - For mild acne or sensitive skin.
BP 10% Gel - For moderate to severe acne, or acne on the back or chest.
Vitamin A Products
These products contain vitamin A propionate, in a conditioning gel developed and patented by Dr. Fulton. It works on the outer layer of skin, the epidermis, as well as the dermis, the deeper level of skin where most products do not reach.
System I: Derm-A-GelTM - This conditioning gel speeds up the turnover of the epidermal cells from the usual sluggish rate of approximately 30 to 40 days to 15 to 20 days. New cells made in the follicles at an increased rate do not stick together as untreated cells do in persons with acne. Comedones are loosened and can be more easily extracted.
System II: Exfol-A - Combines the cell- renewing ability of vitamin A propionate with the exfoliating (peeling) power of glycolic and lactic acids. Glycolic and lactic acids are naturally occurring fruit acids which loosen the bonds between cells in the stratum corneum to hasten the shedding of dead skin cells. Continued use keeps the skin actively peeling. As skin continues to exfoliate clogged pores open up and roughness decreases, giving the skin a beautiful healthy glow.
Optional Vitamin A and Glycolic Acid Products
Exfol-A-Forte - Strongest exfoliation in the Vivant Vitamin A line. Excellent for the back and chest, or skin that is acclimated to the use of Exfol-A.
Glycolic Pads - Stimulates the exfoliation or shedding of dry skin cells, which block the way to healthy skin, and prevent products from being absorbed. Excellent before Microdermabrasion, and to jump start exfoliation in skin that has acclimated to the products. Available in 5%, 10% and for professional use, 20% and 30%.
All Acne Systems Also Include the Following Products:
Normalizing Tonic - This conditioning tonic strips away remaining environmental dirt, cosmetics, and dead skin cells, and helps to open up acne impactions. It contains aloe vera, witch hazel and allantoin for a skin calming effect and glycolic acid for mild exfoliation.
Day Treatment Lotion SPF 15 - An oil free, light moisture seal that provides protection against the sun's ultra violet rays. It also contains high levels of zinc which is anti-inflammatory.
Ice Compresses
Applying ice produces an anti-inflammatory effect and opens the stratum corneum to promote product penetration.

Teach your clients the importance of having a little exfoliation every week.
If your clients are not experiencing enough exfoliation, they may need to move up to System Two, or add Glycolic Pads as a booster once or twice a week.
They may choose to stop their program for a couple of days if the exfoliation process becomes too aggressive. Marine Nourishment Cream or Allantion Emulsion will provide needed moisture and nourishment.

FOR ACNE
BP WASH -A gentle, non-abrasive face and body wash which cleanses away impurities and kills the Coryneabacterium acnes at the same time. Patented gel stabilizes the benzoyl peroxide and delivers it into the follicles. First step in Vivant’s Clear Complexion System I.
BP CLEANSER - Sweeps away the dead cells owing to polyethylene beads making way for benzoyl peroxide which penetrates the pores and kills the acne bacteria.
REGULAR CLEANSERS
CLEANSING MILK - This purifying blend of light oils, grape seed and cucumber extracts provide a thorough cleansing without upsetting natural moisture balance of the skin. Oil-based, yet non-comedogenic. Can be used as often as desired without drying the skin.
CLEANSING GEL - Controls excess oil while dissolving dirt and make up. Suitable for combination and oily skin or when in a tropical climate. Makes an excellent shaving gel for sensitive skin. Can be used as shampoo for people with oily hair and scalp.
GREEN TEA CLEANSING GEL – A universal cleanser fortified with antioxidant Green Tea, Grape Seed and Kiwi Extracts which gently foams away the impurities and simultaneously protects your skin, hair and nails. Preserves skin’s natural acid mantle at pH 5.4
BUFFING GRAINS - A mildly exfoliating cleanser with Phospholipids and Aloe Vera. Polishes away dulling dead skin cells without robbing the skin of its natural moisture barrier. Skin Condition: Mild acne or sensitive skin with acne
Treatment Type: Mild
Purpose: Acne Therapeutic Antibacterial wash to control mild acne.
Unique Features: Patented gel stabilizes the benzoyl peroxide, allowing it to release free-radical oxygen; penetrate the pores, and kill the corynebacterium acnes.
Usage: For acne prone skin. First step in Vivant's Clear Complexion System OneCan be used daily as a facial cleanser or shampoo.
Directions: Use 1 to 3 times daily. Work into lather with finger tips massaging for at least one minute. Rinse well.
Contains: Benzoyl Peroxide 3%
Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and eyelids. Discontinue use for a day or two if undue scaling develops in sensitive areas. Consult your therapist to learn about possible benzoyl peroxide allergies if redness and itching persist.

Treatment Type: Aggressive
Purpose: Slough off unwanted dead skin cells; exfoliating, cleansing and disinfecting to kill bacteria and help control acne. Prepares skin for Vivant's topical acne therapies.
Unique Features: Patented gel stabilizes the Benzoyl Peroxide, allowing it to release free-radical oxygen, penetrate the pores, and kill the Coryneabacterium acnes.
Usage: Twice daily. First step in Vivant's Clear Complexion
Directions: Use 1 to 3 times daily on affected skin. Work into lather with fingertips, cleanse using gentle circular motions for at least one minute. Rinse off thoroughly.
Contains: Stabilized benzoyl peroxide 3% and exfoliating polyethylene beads.
Cautions: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and eyelids. Discontinue usage for one or two days if excessive scaling develops in sensitive areas. In cases of persistent redness and itching, contact your therapist to learn about possible benzoyl peroxide allergies.

Usage: As often as needed as a daily cleanser.
Directions:Work up a lather using gentle circular motions, adding water as needed. Rinse well.
Contains: Sage, Comfrey, Camomile, Camilla Oleifera, and Aloe Vera blended with mild cleansers.

Skin Condition: Dry or sensitive skin
Treatment Type: Mild
Purpose: To exfoliate the skin, thus working to clear blemishes, smooth fine lines, and even out skin tone.
Unique Features: Skin immediately starts to repair. When used daily, skin will take on a rosy hue. Long term benefits can be seen in less than two weeks!
Usage: Recommended for all problematic complexions, acne and mild scaring, sun damage, dull, uneven skin tones, age spot wrinkles and rough or leathery skin. Use Derm A Gel following the Tonic and before your SPF product.
Directions: Begin with once or twice a week then increase to once and twice a day as the skin adapts. Slight tingling sensation, which normally disappears with continued usage, shows that Derm A Gel™ is working. Allow the product to dry for a few minutes prior to applying anything over it.

Treatment Type: Moderate to Aggressive
Purpose: To exfoliate the skin, helping to clear, blemishes, smooth fine lines, and even out skin tone.
Unique Features: Exfol A combines the strength of vitamin A propionate with the added exfoliating power of glycolic acid, kojic acid and lactic acid.
Usage: The molecular structure of the active ingredients vitamin A propionate, lactic and kojic acids augments penetration into the skin triggering the rejuvenation process.
Directions:Apply a dime size amount to affected areas,let dry before applying a sun screen. Begin with once a day, increasing slowly up to twice a day. Always allow the product to dry for a minute or two prior to applying anything over it. If excessive irritation develops, temporarily discontinue. Use Alocort, or Allantion Emulsion to nourish and heal, before slowly adding Exfol A back into your routine.

Skin Condition: Oily facial skin that has acclimated to Exfol A or the treatment of thicker skin of the back and chest.
Treatment Type:Very Aggressive
Purpose: To exfoliate and treat severe acne and sun damage on the thicker skin of the back, chest, backs of hands and the arms. Not for use on face and neck unless the skin is totally acclimated to Exfol A™.
Features: Specially blended with more alpha and beta hydroxy acids for an extremely aggressive exfoliating treatment.
Usage: To restore severe acne, photo aging, and leathery skin to its youthful appearance. This product is the final stage in the Vivant program, and should only be used following an aggressive Exfol A or Derma A Gel program.
Directions: Using fingertips apply over desired area 1 to 2 times daily. Must be used in conjunction with a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher, such as Day Treatment Lotion or SPF 30+ Sunscreen. Avoid sun exposure while using Exfol A. If exposed to the sun wear a hat and repeat your sunscreen application every two hours if exposure is prolonged. If planning a vacation in the sun temporally discontinue until return.

Skin Condition: Acne prone and photo aged skin
Treatment Type: Mild to Moderate
Purpose: Prepares skin for the Vitamin A conditioner, controls surface oil, removes environmental or cleanser residues and dead skin cells.
Unique Features: The tingling sensation tells you it's working! Witch Hazel calms the skin as glycolic acid dissolves dead skin cells and clears the skin of residual contaminants. This provides a smooth shiny surface to apply Vivant's Vitamin A skin conditioners, bleaching lotions, moisture sealants, and sun protectants enhancing their results.
Usage: Use twice daily after cleansing. Maybe used more often during the summer months or in humid climates to control oil. Once the skin adjusts to the use of Normalizing Tonic and no longer tingles when applied, you may move up to Normalizing Tonic Forte.
Directions:After each cleansing, dry face before applying. Pour a small quantity of Normalizing Tonic on a cotton pad and wipe over face and neck. Maybe used between cleansings to remove excess oil.

Purpose: Glycolic, citric and salicylic acids control oil and remove dead skin cells and debris. This prepares the skin surface for Vivant's Vitamin A skin conditioners, bleaching lotions, moisture sealants and sun protectants thus enhancing their results.
Unique Features: Normalizing Tonic Forte provides additional exfoliation and is a stronger toner than Normalizing Tonic. By promoting cell turnover on the outer layer of skin, salicylic acid's keratolytic effect aids in the treatment of acne and aging skin. This additional exfoliation gives vitamin A and hydroquinone products the ability to be better utilized by the skin.
Usage: Use twice daily following cleansing. Patients with combination skin may use more often to control oil during the summer months or in hot, humid climates.
Directions: After each cleansing, dry face before applying. Apply a small quantity of normalizing tonic on cotton pads and wipe over face, and neck. May be used be used between cleansings as a refreshing toner.

This triple combo of hydroquinone, kojic acid and vitamin A propionate works synergistically. The mixture of the three blend together to lighten the complexion. This cream base is especially formulated for sensitive skin.

BLEACHING LOTION FORTE 2/2/2
A mixture of hydroquinone and kojic acid blended to keep both chemicals preserved. The lotion does not turn brown. Both compounds work together to inhibit the enzyme – tyrosinase. The combination works better than either one alone. *

Unique Features: A blend of hydroquinone, kojic acid, and vitamin A propionate in a non-irritating cream base. Each ingredient contributes to the lightening of the skin.
Usage: Apply sunscreens during the day and apply the bleaching cream to the face at night. It is best to treat the complete facial areas and not just foci of dyspigmentation on a daily basis.
Directions: Apply the Bleaching Cream to the affected areas several times daily. If no improvement is seen after six months of treatment, discontinue use. Avoid sun exposure.

Condition: Dry, rough, callused skin or feet.
Treatment Type: Aggressive
Purpose: Body Cream. Skin Rejuvenation shouldn't stop at the chin. Lacto-base A lifts and smoothes tough patches by dissolving dead skin cells and softening skin, while conditioning and moisturizing. Excellent for hand rejuvenation. Reduces callused and split areas on heels and soles of the feet. Gradually reduces the appearance of age spots on the arms.

Mandelic Acid, a relatively new alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds. It has a larger carbon chain than other AHAs and is less reactive to the skin. It is absorbed in the deep layers of the skin thus hindering the formation of melanin. Reduces the activity of cebaceous glands and generates new collagen at the same time. Effectively treats photoaging, irregular pigmentation and acne. Dramatically improves wrinkles and fine lines.

Why would a therapist use glycolic pads?
:: The additional exfoliation caused by the glycolic acid allows your topical skin care products to penetrate better resulting in smoother, clearer skin.
When is a good time to use glycolic pads?
:: Maybe used before a microdermabrasion . Leave on for 2 minutes. Be sure to time it carefully and neutralize well by rinsing with plenty of cleat water. If not neutralized the glycolic acid may cause severe burning of the skin.

FOR ACNE
BP 5% GEL MEDICATION - benzoyl peroxide in a water based gel. Used in milder cases of acne.
Grades I - II.
BP 10% GEL MEDICATION - benzoyl peroxide in a water based gel. Used for more severe acne-grades III and IV; also for acne of the back and chest.
Purpose: Benzoyl Peroxide will penetrate down into the pore and kill the Corynebacterium acnes; the bacteria that aggravates acne. Killing off the bacteria with the B.P will improve the complexion. Benzoyl Peroxide will also help peel out the acne impactions.
Usage: Apply to entire area involved. Benzoyl peroxide will not be effective if only applied in spots. Temporary irritation may occur, therefore, it is important to start the therapy slowly. Leave it on for a few hours in the evening and, eventually, leave it on all night.
Caution: Benzoyl Peroxide has bleaching properties. Will bleach sheets and towels. |

Suggested use:
For best results use Skin Rejuvenation Kit for two weeks or more previous to a ProPeel™ or in cases of acne use Acne Kit Dry to Normal or Acne Kit Oily.
Use Derm-A-Gel on delicate or dry skin that has not otherwise been treated.
Use Exfol-A or Exfol-A Forte' on oily skin or if patient has used the products such as Retin-A® previously.
