VIVANT Pharmaceuticals’s new Mandelic Acid Serum effectively treats photo-aging, irregular pigmentation and acne in one bottle

VIVANT Pharmaceuticals, whose potent medically-based formulations are developed by James E. Fulton, MD, PhD, is pleased to introduce to its line Mandelic Acid Serum. Mandelic acid, a relatively new alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds, is proving unique in its singular ability to multi-task. Unlike other AHAs, it targets several prevalent skin care issues, as it rejuvenates photo-aged skin, actively suppresses pigmentation, and treats acne.
A more streamlined skin care regime for the complex needs of aging skin: Mandelic acid was originally studied in open clinical trials as an antibacterial treatment aid in healing after laser resurfacing, but was soon seen to offer other exciting benefits to the skin after continued use.

As with glycolic acid treatment, fine wrinkles and lines improve dramatically with Mandelic acid, but more importantly, without the irritation or post-t-inflammatory hyperpigmentation often seen with glycolic acid and other alpha hydroxy acids, such as lactic acid. Skin texture improves rapidly, and as with glycolic acid, the effect is sustained over months and years of treatment with gradual and continued improvement of fine lines and wrinkles.
An effective and non-abrasive treatment for acne and hyper pigmentation: In addition to effecting a visible improvement in the look and texture of photo-aged skin, VIVANT’S Mandelic Acid Serum also quickly improves abnormal pigmentation, including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, treatment-resistant melasma (brown spots), and lentigoes (large freckles). Results are comparable and sometimes superior to those attained from topical hydroquinone. For acne sufferers, VIVANT’S Mandelic Acid Serum, with its powerful anti-bacterial action, has proven to be a true phenomenon. With its use, many patients are, for the first time, able to control their acne without traditional antibiotics or topical acne products that can irritate their skin excessively.
Dr. Fulton states, “Mandelic acid serum is ideal for the adult woman with complex skin care needs. My patients love the fact that one product is able to deliver three potent therapies equally effectively. In my opinion, it is one of the best modalities to come along since Dr. Kligman and I developed vitamin A acid (tretinoin, Retin-A®) in1969….” “Super-efficient and potent, it epitomizes what I consider to be modern skin care innovation at its best”

Tips on how to market Mandelic Acid Serum:

  1. Seeing is Believing: Nothing is more effective than actually seeing the results of a product. Enclosed is a before and after picture to display. Place it in a visible location for your clients to see.
  2. Promotional Stand-Up: Upon request, we will send you a promotional color stand-up that outlines briefly the benefits of Mandelic Acid Serum. Please display this in a visible location.

   How to prescribe Vivant Pharmaceuticals:

Step 1: During the skin analysis, the doctor/aesthetician explains how to improve the skin conditions through professional treatments and specific home care programs. The esthetician should always use technical terminology and translate it into plain language, which will immediately demonstrate his or her professionalism and thorough understanding of the client’s skin problems. The skin analysis must include a brief but complete explanation of the client’s skin condition. Allow the client to tell you about his or her concerns. Then you can explain the root problems and how you will resolve them.

Step 2: Verbally mention the appropriate products that would resolve the client’s skin complaints. It is important that you limit your recommendations to basic products on the first visit. Do not oversell. You should also briefly mention the products needed in the future, which, most of the time, generates more sales. The verbal prescription process should only last through the analysis.

Step 3: During the exfoliation, explain the importance of weekly exfoliations and how they will slough off dead skin cells and increase product penetration. After the exfoliation, use a mirror to show the initial results. Seeing this immediate improvement will encourage home maintenance skin care routines.

Step 4: While the client is under the steamer, it is time to prepare your treatment and determine the best products for the client’s skin problems. During the mask, write a comprehensive prescription program on a Vivant Client Instruction Booklet (or use a preprinted instruction booklet from a Vivant Skin Care Kit) that will include the client’s basic treatment as well as the products he or she will need in the future. Never presume that the client will not follow your prescription. Almost invariably, clients will be anxious to maintain a healthy skin and will buy products, especially if the facial provided great results.
